Our experience covers design of new roads and junction works, junction upgrades and improvements, as well as associated infrastructure work. We can provide our highway design as a standalone service or as part of a wider civil engineering design service for a site or development.

Infrastructure design on civil engineering projects involves the planning and organisation of highways and services to allow a development to operate effectively.
We offer state of the art three-dimensional (3D) ground modelling, using our Infrastructure BIM software, and administer topographic and sub-site investigations. We can model sites to generate accurate cut/fill volumes, contours, cross sections and setting out information.
We can also offer site inspections and supervision.
We carry out detailed design and prepare drawings and specifications for tender, authority approval and construction purposes.
We offer a complete infrastructure design service for both public and private sites which includes: capacity review, report service and cost advice; Masterplanning and scheme design; underground service design; consultation with service providers, and compliance with statutory procedures.
At SWH, our highways engineers are experts in adoption procedures, including section 38 and section 278 work.
They are skilled in dealing with relevant Highways' Agencies, Drainage and Local Highway Authorities, for a wide range of reasons and needs, including for sewer adoptions. We also understand the importance of complying with planning requirements, such as section 106 agreements.
We will ensure compliance with highway standards and obtain technical approval of proposed schemes, where necessary.
