We offer a full Principal Designer and CDM Advisor Services. This service provides expert advice and guidance on the CDM 2015 regulations to ensure project health and safety duties are undertaken effectively.
CDM2015 builds on previous UK construction health and safety standards to ensure that health and safety issues are properly considered during a project’s development, so that the risk of harm to those who have to build, use and maintain structures is reduced.
The Regulations require a “Principal Designer” to be appointed where more than one contractor will be working on a project at any time. We can be the PD for your project.
We offer a full Principal Designer service for lead-consultants or other designers appointed to a Principal Designer role (CDM-PD) by a client. This service provides expert advice and guidance on the CDM2015 regulations to ensure the PD can undertake project health and safety duties effectively.
Our package of ‘essential’ CDM-PD services includes: advice and guidance for regulation compliance; health and safety review of drawings and specifications and provision of Pre-construction Information (PCI) for tendering contractors.
At the end of the project, we can also compile the health and safety file for the project.
We can provide tailor-made solutions for all of your CDM needs. Our team of CDM advisors are all from a construction background. We know and understand the ‘buildability’ and similar issues faced by designers and contractors alike.
Our specialist ‘File Compilers’ are dedicated to the task of compiling health and files and other construction documentation.
We can offer a cost-effective ‘Cloud-based’ CDM Portal system to keep CDM documents in one place and control projects.
As a client you need to appoint a Principal Designer (PD) from the existing design team on projects where more than one contractor is anticipated on site. You must also appoint a Principal Contractor. If you do not make these appointments, you will be deemed, as the Client, to be taking on these roles yourself.
We believe that clients desire and value a CDM advisor to help them comply with health and safety regulations and we are able to offer this service.
Our experienced CDM consultants can identify if a project is notifiable or not and guide the contractor through the relevant process, in order that all relevant property information is provided (Asbestos, H&S File, etc.) and ensure key risks are identified, adequate control measures are in place and that suitable documentation is collated for each project.
If you do not have the in-house capability to fulfil the CDM/H&S aspects of the Principal Designer role, then we can provide a CDM Consultancy Service to fulfil this role on your behalf, as part of your team.
