Site E, Wolverton Mill Milton Keynes
Site E achieved a BREEAM Excellent certification thanks in part to SWH being appointed as Assessors early in the design process.
Site E is a new large fully fitted industrial unit in the Wolverton Mill area of Milton Keynes.
The scheme incorporated a large number of sustainable features to help move towards the desired BREEAM rating goal.
Water saving features, such as dual low flush WCs and low flow taps were included.
A 24% reduction in CO2 emissions was provided by a combination of PV system and ASHP units.
The building was constructed on previously undeveloped land so a lot of thought and attention was paid to the new planting scheme to ensure there was an increase in the ecological value of the site post-construction.
Scott White and Hookins were appointed as Assessors early in the design process by the Main Contractor for the Design and Build scheme. This allowed us to review credit options and tailor the credit profile to maximise value, whilst also ensuring the targeted Excellent rating was successfully achieved at final certification.
Target rating – Excellent
Final rating – BREEAM Excellent Certified
