Reconstruction of Fagbury Road Felixstowe
At the largest container port in the UK, SWH were involved with the design and project management for the reconstruction of a vital link road, with work completed with minimal disruption to access.
As the clients retained civils and highways engineers on the Port of Felixstowe Distribution Park, Scott White and Hookins were responsible for the design, reparation of bills of quantities and project management for the reconstruction of this 400m link road, together with upgrading of the drainage and footpaths to shared footpath/cycleway use.
The Port of Felixstowe is the largest container port in the UK and one of the largest in Europe. This existing road forms a vital link between Trinity Avenue and Parker Avenue, with direct links onto the A14 and into the main port.
The work involved close liaison with the client and site tenants to minimise disruption to their site operations. As a result, the road works involved 6 stages, in order to maintain site access to premises on either side of the link road.
