The design for a new £1.6m 4-court sports hall with changing rooms and gymnasium, at an existing further education college, was revised by SWH to provide a more cost effective building solution.

Employed by the design and build contractor, Scott White and Hookins undertook a review of the proposed design and offered design options which allowed the contractor to tender a more competitive bid to win the project.
The revised design still provided a quality building, however, savings were made by rationalising floor areas and simplifying the design.
The completed building exceeded all client requirements and provided a cost effective functional building solution.
