Lyon Square Greenhill Place
This project involved an exciting public realm regeneration project with balancing provision of car parking, by SWH's Traffic and Transport team.
SWH's Transport Planning team formed part of the project team for this public realm regeneration project, part-funded by the Mayor of London’s Good Growth Fund and supported by the London Borough of Harrow’s Regeneration Service.
The project proposed the re-provision of existing short-stay car parking facilities, and the creation of a new public space with a range of kiosks and planting.
In addition, alterations to parking arrangements in the highway were proposed in order to ensure that there remained sufficient parking to meet demand and to ensure no loss of revenue to the local parking authority.
SWH analysed the results of parking surveys in order to understand the level of demand for car parking in the locality, and so that a balance could be struck between provision of car parking and provision of new public realm. This led to the solution of re-provision on nearby streets, in order to enable high quality public realm design.
