Leon House Croydon
The project comprised of £45 million alterations and a conversion of a 22-storey 1960’s office block into 263 apartments, as part of a Permitted Development.
Scott White and Hookins provided structural and civil engineering services working for the design and build main contractor, Bouygues UK.
Our initial work included providing structural assessments and condition reports on the hybrid pre-cast and in-situ concrete frame. This involved overseeing a program of concrete testing and intrusive investigations to determine the nature and capacity of the building. We identified potential risks and opportunities, advising on measures to mitigate these.
As the project progressed we designed the alterations and modifications both to the structure and underground drainage to facilitate the conversion.
