Lift Shaft – Crossrail Works Farringdon Interchange Station
Scott White and Hookins undertook assessment for a part-installed lift shaft and design a new lift pit.
Scott White and Hookins have undertaken a number of designs, assessments and condition surveys, as part of the Crossrail Works at Farringdon.
At the new Farringdon Interchange Station, a lift shaft to serve the Crossrail platform is provided. Prior to bringing into use and to allow the lift to be used as part of the Thameslink service, a temporary lift pit had to be installed.
Scott White and Hookins had to undertake an assessment of the part-installed lift shaft for the temporary lift pit loads and design a new lift pit terminating at the lower Thameslink platform level.
SWH undertook all the design and detailing of the works, as well as obtaining approvals under both NWR and LUL assurance processes, acting as DRE and CRE, for various submissions.
